In July 2000, I fainted on a Bucharest bus from exhaustion — working at Elle Magazine Romania for €200 a month, wondering if this was really my life.
Two days later, my sister called about a temp job on a river cruise ship. My first welcome speech: my hands shook so badly I dropped the microphone in front of 150 guests. I cried. I almost got fired — twice — in my first year. There was no training. No manual. No mentor.
Twenty-five years later, I have trained 130+ cruise managers, all of them still thriving, and last season I earned €75,000 working 120 days.
I built the Academy because nobody should have to start the way I did — alone, terrified, with no manual and no mentor.
